Walking

Well it's been a week and no juicing. I really do miss it. I'm hoping to get on teach real soon.

On another note, I walked 3 days this week. I used my Charity Miles app. This app lets you choose a charity. You walk or run. For every mile you do, this app donates money to the charity on the list. This week I walked for Autism Speaks, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's, and Stand Up to Cancer.

So you see, I have been busy this week. Have a great day. Have a birthday party to attend today and need to finish the gifts.

Two days of exercising

So I have stopped juicing, not because I wanted to, but because I'm out of veggies to juice until Friday, but that's ok because I have taken up exercising and eating in smaller portions.

Ok, so if you must know, I own Richard Simmoms DVDs. There, I said it! I like the way he presents his techniques. Besides, I have done other videos if his and a lot of the moves are similar, so I am not getting lost or behind very much. The DVDs that I have are 30 minutes each. Yesterday I did one that was not too bad. Made me sweat. Nadia joined in for a bit, but got tired. Today I woke up early and did one while the girls were asleep. I did rock in' to the 80's DVD. Tomorrow I'm going to try to do a 60's one. He play a 60's music while exercising. I can't seem to find my AB workout one. I guess I have to continue looking for it.

Better get some rest, have to wake up early to take Nadia to Vacation Bible Camp and I'm going to head to the park with Natalia for a walk.

A few days have passed

Happy late Fourth of July! We had a great time. I do have to admit that I ate food. I did not overdo it. I had some smaller portions than I would have had a few weeks ago. I am down 13 lbs and trying to lose more. I am running out of veggies for these last few days. Tomorrow I will definitely start my exercise regimen. Wish me luck!!

I will keep you updated. I won't be juicing the entire time, but I will juice for at least a meal and eat in smaller portions for the other meals.

Still juicing

Ok, so it's been a couple of days since I have logged anything, but know that I have been juicing. Yesterday I started with green citrus juice.

It was delicious. See that dark green spot? It's ice. I like to drink my juices with ice.

This morning I had carrot apple lemon juice.
This one is one of my favorite juices. It's tart, but delicious! Natalia even likes this one. For dinner and dessert I had Joes Green Machine juice and Watermelon bliss. Surprisingly, Nadia liked the watermelon bliss one. It has watermelon, lime, and basil.
Left is green machine and right is watermelon bliss.

So sorry!!

Well I have missed a few days because I got off the wagon. Tomorrow, it's back to business. I'm starting off with green citrus. I can't wait until snack time because I get to juice watermelon. That should be fun.

I have to tell you that being off the wagon wasn't so bad. I have been a good girl and have eaten healthy and in smaller portions than I would have normally had. So am I forgiven??

Day 11 minus 11 lbs

I have lost 11 lbs in 11 days. I feel great. Since I'm doing juice for breakfast and lunch and soup or salad for dinner, I will start exercising tomorrow. Let's see how it goes.
Today's breakfast and lunch was pear pie delight. It was sweet And delicious
For dinner I had the same soup as last night. Potato soup was good again the second night. Anyway, it's late and I'm going to bed.

Finally day 10, 5 more to go

So today is day 10 and there are 5 more to go. I have had to make a few adjustments due to funds, but I think I will be able to manage. I'm going to juice for breakfast and lunch and have soup for dinner. I will still be juicing.

Anyway, my hubby made me a compost bin today. I didn't want to throw away all of the leftovers from the juicing so I have been storing them in the freezer. I saw a compost bin on Pinterest, so he made it for me.
There it is, sitting in our backyard under our tree.

My 15 month old loves these juices. Today she would not let my juice go. Here she is enjoying some sips.
Tonight, I made potato soup and it was delicious. I only had one serving, but very tempting to have another.
Lets see how tomorrow goes. Another day and I'm still on it. :-)

WoW, 9 days!!

Today is day 9. I have 6 more to go. Today was another hard day. I think that my body is craving junk food, but I haven't given in. I had a carrot apple lemon juice this morning that was just yummy.
Because we went to the library today, I bought some Naked brand Green juice for lunch. I think my cravings started the minute we walked into the mall through the food court. The foods smelled so delicious. My husband and I started talking about what I would do after day 15. I decided that I would eat food for 15 days then go back to juicing for 15 days. I'm thinking to eat salads and the soups from the first five days. I think that will work. Do you?
For dinner I had the squash apple soup because I was feeling nauseous  it worked in settling my tummy. I drank my second portion of carrot apple lemon juice for dessert.

Day 8 and counting....

Today was pretty awesome. I have a job and picked a grade level. I will be teaching 6th grade. I'm excited and nervous at the same time, but I think I'll do ok. My teammates seem very down to earth.
Today's juices were not too bad. This morning and for lunch I had Sunrise juice.
For my afternoon snack and dinner I had Green lemonade.
This was good. Too bad I couldn't add salt to it. Otherwise it was good.

I know I said my day was awesome, but safari as food goes, it was ok. I was craving food today. It was hard making dinner for my husband and daughter when it smelled so good and I wanted to have a bite. I was strong and washable to pass them up. Hopefully tomorrow won't be like today as farad food goes

Ok, I haven't had a chance to talk about my juicer. It is pretty good. If I ever invest I another, I would get one that has a wider mouth to put the fruits and vegetables in. I'm assuming that the clean-up is the same with all juicers....messy and a little tedious. Other than that, I like my juicer.

Lets see how tomorrow's juices taste.

Day 7

Today, was pretty good. My breakfast and afternoon snack was Green Citrus Juice.
For a morning snack had some coconut juice. Them for lunch and dinner I had Sporty Spice Juice.
Both were delicious. The citrus juice had spinach, cucumber, green apple, and oranges. The sporty spice had beets, celery, basil, orange, and lemon. It to bad huh? I didn't take a picture of dessert, but it was scrumptious. It was Purple Delight Juice. It has grapes, blueberries, and mint. YUMMY!!

Can't wait for tomorrow's drinks.

Day 6 and surviving

Well I survived an ALL juice day. I even got to have a juice for dessert: Pear pie Juice.
It was pretty tasty. I gave some to my oldest, Nadia (8), but she did not like it. I was tempted to eat some of her popcorn she was eating during the movie tonight. We watched Dolphin Tale. Another craving I was having was of the brand that I have cooing in the crockpot. I wonder if its ok to add bean water to my juices. LoL!!
Anyway, you know what helps keep me going? My family and this cup!
It was a going away present from a colleague of mine. I love the cup and I feel like I can go the distance with it. This juicing thing is for 15 days. I wonder if I could do it for a longer period of time. We'll see how this goes. Good night. More juicing tomorrow!!

Day five: minus 6 lbs

Today had been a long day. It's after midnight and I'm still awake. Today started off with a smoothie. For lunch and dinner I had a Reboot Detox Soup.
It was very yummy.
I also went grocery shopping for the next five days of pure juicing. Here is what five days of fruits and veggies looks like.
When I got home, that's when I had my dinner and started bagging 1 gallon size bags with each juice ingredient. It took a long time, but finally got it done.
Yes, that's five days worth of juicing bags. There are some I can't wait to try. I will keep you posted as to how they are.

As you can see by my title, I have lost 6 pounds since I started. Maybe these next five days I will shed a few more pounds. I am also going to try to incorporate a bit of exercise. Oh, guess what? I haven't had the urge to eat any of the food that I see. No cravings either. Maybe this juicing thing is working!!  Keep your fingers crossed that I can continue to do this.

Tomorrow's the day

Well folks, tomorrow is the big day! Yup, all liquids. It's not all juice, but close enough. Tomorrow is juices and puréed soups. Wish me luck!
Today wasn't so bad. I had a yummy carrot apple lemonade juice it was delicious
For dinner I had a salad, yes my last meal that I can actually chew.
Believe it or not, I'm actually getting used to it. No big headache tonight. Let's see if the headaches continue to stay away. Well, like I said, tomorrow is juices and soups. Then Saturday is all juices. Tomorrow I go for my next round of fruits and veggies!! Good night!

Day 3

I forgot to tell you my good news!! I got a job! I just don't know if it is for first grade or sixth grade. Hopefully I will find out soon so that I can start preparing.

My day started out well. I had a smoothie for breakfast. Natalia, my 15 month,  wanted some and she loved it.
For snack today I had another green drink. This one was a bit bitter, but I made it go down.
My lunch was yummy. It was squash and apple soup.
But then it went downhill. I took Nadia swimming at a friends house and I ate two small bowls of nachos. I knew from the moment that they hit my stomach that it was a bad idea. I feel bad as I am getting ready for bed. I wonder if this is why I have a headache?? Well until tomorrow.

Survived day 2

So last night I had the worst headache and stomach ache that I only ate half of my dinner and went to bed. I did wake up with the headache bit that went away after I are my berry apple bake.

We went to Albuquerque today and I have to admit that I strayed a little today, but not a bad stray. I ate a grilled chicken salad from Mc Donald's without the dressing. By the time we were heading home I was getting a headache again so when we got home I took a nap. Woke up feeling a little better and started making dinner. I totally forgot to make my soup, but the other part was delicious except for the part where I opened the wrong end of the pepper and poured a whole bunch in, but I managed to save my meal. Butternut squash with portobello mushroom. YUM!!

Starting of with improvising

So I go to turn my oven on to bake my Berry Apple Cinnamon Bake and the oven doesn't want to turn on. I didn't give up, I decided to use my toaster oven instead.
Here is my yummy breakfast!
I finally used my juicer. Of corse I made a mess. :-) But it was fun doing it. I made carrot apple ginger juice and it wasn't too bad. I put in a couple of ice cubes so that it could be extra cold.

This was a filling lunch! Later I will have the rest of my juice and then another salad!

Getting started

So today I went to the grocery store to buy all the things I needed for my juicing journey. The young girl at the checkout counter kept asking me what the names were of the different veggies I was buying. She asked what I was doing with all of the fruits and vegetables and I told her I was going to start juicing. Her comment was "Sounds healthy!" I laughed with her as she proceeded to finish up.

I came home and started washing and bagging the stuff for the first five days of the Reboot regimen that Joe Cross has put together. Joe Cross is the guy from Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. He's where I got my inspiration from to do this. Well, my husband is helping me out too. Anyway, joe will be in Austin and I'm sad that I just missed him as I am in New Mexico now. Maybe he will head this way. Here's to wishful thinking!

Tomorrow morning, I start my Juicing in New Mexico journey.
